As we celebrate the Fourth of July, Independence Day, we remember this is the day The Declaration of Independence was signed by the Founding Fathers of the original United States of America. The famous phrase from that document has reverberated for over two centuries across the world as a beacon of freedom: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

The Declaration of Independence is not the source of our right to pursue peace, security, liberty and prosperity, but the Holy Bible is. This declaration simply echoes the precious promises of freedom and liberty in the Word of God. We are blessed to live in a nation where liberty not tyranny, prosperity not poverty, rights not slavery are the foundations. This is why Satan hates America and why we have to preserve Her divine destiny. America’s freedom for the Gospel has been the liberating power in the world in the last two hundred years. True meaning of freedom is to live in the righteousness and grace Christ has purchased for us.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Gal. 5:1 NIV)

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (Gal. 5:13 NKJV)

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom). (2 Co. 3:17 AMPC)

And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free. (John 8:32 AMPC)

I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments. (Ps. 119:45 NLT)
